Zoe S. (Murphy) Galvin 53, of Franklin, died peacefully, at her home surrounded by her family, Monday, March 30, 2015 following a brave and courageous battle against cancer. She was the beloved wife of Michael E. Galvin.

Born October 21, 1961 in Boston, a daughter of the late George A. and Kathleen H. (Doyle) Murphy, she was a former resident of Dorchester and had lived in Franklin since 1992.

She was raised in Boston and attended Boston Latin School, where she met her husband, and was a graduate of Suffolk University, where she received a bachelor's degree in Business and a minor in marketing. Zoe was a former Vice President of commercial lending at Boston Private Bank and Trust.

Following the birth of her children, she left the banking industry and became a fulltime "Mom", devoted to her husband and children she was always there for her family. She followed all the Boston sports teams, and enjoyed reading, traveling to Lake George, New York, and to the family camp at Belgrade Lakes, Maine. Zoe was a former competitive tennis player and played on the Adirondack Club's tennis team and was a member of St. Mary's Church, Franklin.

Zoe was a loving, kind, and helpful person, who faced her diagnosis without fear and was still thinking of others even to the day of her passing.

In addition to her husband of 29 years, she is survived by her children; Shane M. Galvin & Sarah L. Galvin of Franklin, her siblings; Louise D. Murphy of Braintree, Geoffrey J. Murphy of New York City, Nicholas P. Murphy of Winthrop, Amy M. Murphy of Madison, Alabama, George B. Murphy of Quincy and Thomas D. Murphy of Bellingham. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her pride and joy "Bella".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Tuesday April 7th, at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin at 10AM. Interment at St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville, Maine will be held at a later date. Calling hours are Monday April 6th, from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
